What is a Center of Excellence?

A center of excellence (COE) is a team, a shered facility or an entity that provides leadership, best practices, research, support and/or training for a focus area. The term may also refer to a network of institutions collaborating with each other to pursue excellence in a particular area.

BoCE is a Center of excellence for:

Creating a network of experts and institutions
Providing a platform and resources to experts and institutions to do original research related to health and human development.
Publishing research work
Providing Education and Training
Organizing seminars, symposia and conferences
Public relations activities with policy-makers, media and health-care industry leaders
Collecting resources for all above

BoCE is engaged in the following activities:

Research and support scholarships especially in the fields of integrative medicine, Ayurveda, yoga and naturopathy.
Offering educational opportunities and training
Organizing and holding symposia, conferences and workshops for researchers, businesses, government agencies, policy makers and the general public to learn and exchange knowledge and practices of sciences for realizing full human potential and overall human development
Providing leadership in advancing educational, medical, health, cultural and social values of scientific issues through promoting studies, publications, recognition, and forums for discussions.

Yoga & Ayurveda:

Yoga and Ayurveda together makes a perfect system for all living beings to live in harmony with individual’s true nature to realized one’s full potential which his called ‘swastha’ in Sanskrit, nearest meaning is health, but in much broader sense.
Yoga a household name and activity in the world
Yoga is practiced mostly as physical and mental fitness tool
Yoga has tremendous power both for prevention and healing various ailments
Ayurveda is also slowly gaining popularity in the US.
Yoga and Ayurveda can bring solutions to many of our challenges in Health. It can truly bring the Vedic idea of ‘sarvesukhinasantu, sarvesantuniramayah’ let everybody be happy and healthy, none should suffer.
Provides an effective way to spread the idea of universal integrity as the wise of the past said: ‘vasudhaivakutumbakam’ – the whole creation is one large family. So for the health of individuals but also for mother earth for true sustainability, a lifestyle based on yoga and Ayurveda is not just useful, but essential. Climate change is an existential challenge before the humanity. Life style change based on yoga and Ayruvedic principles can hugely impact our environment.
For Yoga and Ayurveda as fully recognized integrative medicine and health care system a strategic step for research, and education is the need of the hour.
